A4ID’s Chief Executive, Yasmin Batliwala, will speak at the UN Global Forum on Business and Human Rights 2017 at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland on 28 November 2017.
The UN Global Forum on Business and Human Rights 2017 is a global forum for annual stock-taking and lesson sharing regarding efforts to realise the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. The central theme of the 2017 Forum is “Realizing Access to Effective Remedy”.
Yasmin will participate in the “How lawyers can help communities access to remedy” panel discussion scheduled for 13:30-14:45 on Tuesday, 28 November. The case-study driven discussion will consider how lawyers can better advise clients throughout the lifespan of a large-scale resource development project, in order to ensure community’s access to appropriate remedy for current and future harms.
