Learning and Development Volunteer
Hanna works with the Learning and Development team, providing support with event planning and the development of publications.
With an MA in Global Studies and a BA in International Relations, Peace and Conflict Studies, Hanna has developed a keen interest in human rights, gender issues and international development. She recently completed an internship with a grassroots organisation in Uganda, where she gained first-hand experience of both the complexities and initiatives taking place in a post-conflict developing country. This included gaining an insight into a society struggling with poor inter-tribal relations following the end of the three decade-long conflict, structural issues such as, weak democratic institutions, and general development issues such as widespread poverty. Whilst working in Uganda, Hanna supported gender sensitisation and domestic violence programmes, conflict management initiatives, and children’s rights projects aimed at facilitating the completion of children’s education.
During her time with A4ID, she is eager to increase her knowledge and understanding of the nexus between the legal sector and international development and the role of law in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
