Addressing climate change – supporting the most vulnerable
Download our new podcasts from the first meeting of our Climate Change Knowledge Group.
In the first discussion Dr Achala Chandani from IIED looks at the effects of climate change on the developing world. She also explores the strengths and weaknesses of the existing global climate change regime and the position of Least Developed Countries at climate change negotiations.
Dr Saleemul Huq from the IIED follows on from this by considering whether developing countries have more power in the current framework than previously thought. He also looks at what other legal and economic options could and should be considered to ensure the needs of developing countries are met.
We run regular Knowledge Group sessions on a variety of themes including Governance, Responsible Business and Socio-Economic Rights.
They provide lawyers and those interested in the law with the opportunity to gain a better understanding of the relationship between law and key areas of international development.
At each event we are joined by expert legal and development practitioners and academics to discuss current and emerging areas of interest. Find out more and sign up to receive more information about our Knowledge Groups.
