A4ID Debt & Finance Knowledge Group Coordinator Vacancy
A4ID is looking for a new Knowledge Group co-ordinator. The position is a voluntary role, and one which is vital to the continuing success of our Knowledge Group programme.
The Knowledge Groups offer lawyers a chance to gain in-depth knowledge of a particular area of law and international development though peer learning and engagement with expert development practitioners and academics.
We run six knowledge groups over the areas of Socio-Economic Rights, Responsible Business, Debt & Finance, Governance, Climate Change and Intellectual Property. There is a vacancy as the coordinator of the Debt & Finance knowledge group.
Together with the Knowledge Group Coordinators, A4ID organises an ongoing series of meetings where the Knowledge Group members can learn more about the area from a range of perspectives.
We hope that each group will meet between four and six times a year. As well as the meetings we also make sure that podcasts and films of the presentations are available to access online via our Resource Centre.
The role of a Knowledge Group Coordinator includes:
- Planning learning outcomes for your Knowledge Group with the A4ID team.
- Planning activities for your Knowledge Group for the year ahead with A4ID team, including the selection of themes and potential speakers.
- Chairing Knowledge Group meetings.
- Identifying topical/relevant information which should be shared with Knowledge Group/A4ID, and opportunities for work from the Knowledge Group to be shared more widely through the online resource centre.
A4ID recognises that its volunteers are an integral part of our organisation who contribute valuable time and resources to helping us achieve our objectives. While we don’t ask Knowledge Group Coordinators to commit to working with us for a fixed period of time we do request that they have the time to assist with the planning of sessions and are able to attend approximately one evening event every two months.
If you are interested in this role please send an email to Helen Mould at Helen.Mould@a4id.org by 17 October 2011.
