Certain particulars of employment are often not covered in formal contracts of employment, and it is good practice for employers to document these details in a staff handbook. This guide by A4ID in collaboration with Louise Mason of Allen & Overy includes a thorough checklist of topics which should be covered in such a handbook as based on English law.
Topics discussed include equal opportunities policy, anti-harassment policy, holiday leave policy, sickness absence policy, maternity and family-friendly policies, flexible working policy, expenses policy, disciplinary and grievances policies, health and safety policy, and data protection policy.
