A4ID’s Business and Human Rights Programme aims to equip commercial lawyers in Kenya to comply with, and advise their corporate clients on, the United Nations’ Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (the UNGPs).

A4ID is delivering this programme in Kenya in partnership with international law firms Clifford Chance and Linklaters, and in collaboration with respected local legal practitioners.

This training will equip lawyers with the knowledge and skills to improve corporate governance and enhance responsible business practices. In addition to learning and skills development regarding the UNGPs, the training will provide a valuable networking opportunity and peer to peer learning between Kenyan and international lawyers.

We strongly welcome the participation of Partners of firms. We also welcome participation from Principal Associates/ Senior Associates/Associates with 3-5 years work experience.

This programme is delivered in Nairobi on Friday, 7 October 2016 from 08:30 to 16:30 (EAT).

This training session will allow participants to:

  • Learn through practice how to apply the UNGPs in their practice in contexts most relevant to business in Kenya; and
  • Develop an awareness of the ways companies may remedy or contribute to the remedy of human rights violations.
