Board of Trustees

The trustees have overall responsibility for the management of A4ID, which is a registered charity and company limited by guarantee.

 

The trustees determine and implement A4ID's goals and policies. Each has responsibility for particular areas of A4ID's work.

 

The Core Team assists the trustees in the day to day management of A4ID.


Farid Anvari

Farid is an associate in the Capital Markets department of Clifford Chance LLP. He specialises in structured finance and capital markets transactions. Farid is an active member of A4ID's debt and finance practice. He is the director responsible for relations with government.

 
Nick Flynn

Nick's main responsibility within A4ID is overseeing our debt and finance work.  This spans contentious and transactional work together with developing training resources for those working in this field. 

 

Nick is a senior associate in Weil Gotshal & Manges LLP corporate department. He specialises in environmental issues and is also an active member of the firm's pro bono committee.

Jessica Gladstone (Pogson)

Jessica leads A4ID's development rights practice and shares responsibility for our media team. She is a solicitor-advocate, and specialises in public international law and litigation. She has previously worked in the international litigation and arbitration practice at Linklaters, and with the UN International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda in Tanzania.

Kara Irwin

Kara is the Director of BPP Law School's Pro Bono Centre, managing a variety of projects matching volunteer lawyers and law students with those with otherwise unmet legal need. 

 

She is a U.S. and UK-qualified lawyer and had previously practiced with Shearman & Sterling LLP and as a legal consultant to the International Bar Association's Human Rights Institute.

 
Chris Marshall

Chris chairs A4ID's Board of Trustees and manages our Core Team.  He works closely with the Core Team on day to day management issues.  He also oversees A4ID's trade and investment programmes. 

 

Chris is Reed Smith's Pro Bono and Community Manager for Europe and the Middle East.  He is a member of the Attorney General's International Pro Bono Coordinating Committee.

Victoria Wakefield

Victoria is a Barrister at Brick Court Chambers. She has a mixed practice which spans European, public and commercial law, with a significant proportion of pro bono work. As well as her general duties as an A4ID trustee, she has particular regard to the inclusion of the Bar in A4ID's activities.

 
Roger Leese

Roger is a Partner in the Litigation Department at Clifford Chance LLP.  He is also responsible for his firm's pro bono work on developmental issues.

 

Within A4ID Roger's particular responsibilities are global governance issues.  He is the director responsible for managing A4ID's funding strategy.
